Suirside Veterinary Clinic

Brought our beautiful 12 month dog in for neutering and got a call a few hours later to say the dog had passed away and no one knew why. No reactions to anesthetic or complications during the operation. No one spoke to us about any risks that may lead to death and no explanation of why it happened. If there was any risk for a healthy, strong, young dog then we never would have done the procedure. No wavers and no 1 explained any risks. Just said its a routine procedure and she'd be ready to go home in a few hours. We discovered that no blood work is done in this clinic for dogs under 8 years old before the surgery to check if there may be any reason not to go ahead. If there's even the slightest possibility that this traumatic thing could happen why not do a simple blood test. Why not talk to the owners about the risks. After this event I've discovered that similar incidents have happened at this clinic. I worry that it is only Ger himself that has brought the reputation to Suirside and the reality is he's not doing to surgeries anymore so there's no difference bringing pets here or to another clinic as you don't know the vet who is actually dealing with your pet.

Very reasonable prices! Passport, vacation and microchip for 3 dog's €220 very good value! 2 other vet's we're asking for €360 to € 420 The reseptionist was very busy looking after costumer, helping the vet and looking after the shop. It would make sense have one more person to cover the reseption and the shop. The area where the animals are treated is not very clean and should be renovated. The costumer toilet has a very bad smell and would need a renovation is well. All the staff and the vet we're very friendly and helpful.
